Museo dei Brettii – Sala V – Showcase 8

The showcase displays fragments from the excavation of a Bruttian farm in the area of S. Barbara in Cetraro, dating from the late IV – early III century BC. These are fragments of small red-figure and black-painted vases, mostly diagnostic parts of the vases (rims, handles, bottoms / feet), used to eat and drink in everyday life. We also have fragments of amphorae for olive oil and wine, both of Italic-Bruttian (greek-italic) and Punic (Carthage) manufacture. There is also some kitchenware to cook (caccabai, lopades, jars), to pour and serve (pitchers, jars, cups).
